Ashley's brother, Matt, got married a couple weekends ago outside of Boerne. Being friends with Ash for so long, I remember going to lots of Matt's baseball games growing up so I was excited to go see him tie the knot! Instead of doing a lot of driving for just one day, we decided to make it a weekend trip. Billy had that Friday off so we were able to leave around 11 am so that Avery could sleep in the car.

This was what the weather looked like as we were leaving town. Of course it would rain during a horrible drought on the one day that we were traveling!
The rain ended up being just the ticket to get Ave to sleep- just like her sound machine at home!
Kelly has an apartment in San Antonio for school but was home for the summer for an internship. This worked out really well for us because we had a free place to stay with a kitchen and lots of entertainment for Ave.

Once we got unpacked and made a quick trip to the grocery store, we headed to the Riverwalk for dinner. Avery was in heaven there! There were birds, ducks, boats, and people everywhere she looked.
I forgot her sippy cup so we had to order her a big girl cup with a straw. I'm pretty sure this made her day.

The Riverwalk is a special place for Billy and me because just a couple years ago, we were eating at a restaurant there and decided that we were ready to start a family. It was so neat going with Avery this time to the same spot. The day was a great start to our mini-vacation!
