The Past Couple of Weeks

Over the past couple of weeks, Avery has gotten two teeth with two more trying to push through.  She has always been extremely uncomfortable with new teeth coming in.  I get secretly very jealous of people that say they never notice when their kids are getting new teeth, one day they just appear.  Maybe my next child will be like that but Ave just isn't, poor girl.  For about a week straight, she wanted to be held more than normal, was uncharacteristically fussy even with Ibuprofen, and cried a lot when I dropped her off at church.  It breaks my heart to see her so sad.  It also makes the day to day routine a little extra special if you know what I mean!

With that being said, I have absolutely cherished the past couple of days now that she is back to her old self.  The rough days make me really appreciate the happy ones.  We hardly left the house yesterday which usually means a really long day, but we actually had a lot of fun together.  Here are some shots of the happy times of the last few weeks-

She was boycotting bathtime when she was hurting which is usually one of her favorite things to do.  I lured her in with some bubbles in our bathtub and she thought it was hilarious to give herself a bubble beard!

Orange teeth at dinner time

Cheese!

I don't know why I never have given this girl play dough to play with.  She could have played for hours!

Avery usually battles getting toweled off after a bath.  Last night she ran around with her towel on  pretending to flap her wings for a good 30 minutes!

She wanted to continue even after she was dressed!
It is sad that I have a teeth countdown until they are all in!  I can only imagine how horrible it must feel to have those things push through but I'm so thankful to have my happy girl back even if it is only until the next ones come pushing through!

  1. Glad to hear she is back to her precious self!! (Although she always seems sweet to me!) You are a great mommy to be so patient and understanding while she was having a rough time. I can't wait to try the playdough idea with G!
