Surfside Fun

Two weekends ago, we headed to Surfside Beach.  I've been going there since I was little so it always brings back lots of memories each time I go.  I love that Avery is now able to go!

We've only taken Avery to the beach once in February when she was 9 months old.  It was cold and Ave couldn't walk so I knew it would be very different this time.  The Arrant family and Talkington family joined us.

Kyle had been working a ton and didn't know for sure when he would be done that day so Ash and Luke rode down there with us.  I think Ave had a great time being surrounded in the back seat rather than all by herself!

Road trip!!!

A little handholding in the backseat

It was a little chilly on Saturday morning so all the kids were dressed with more layers than usual for the beach.

Ready!  That innocent little face melts my heart.

Avery didn't really know what to think of all the sand and water at first.  She warmed up to it once she realized she could take around a bucket and find sea shells (just like finding Easter eggs!!!).

We came in for lunch and put the babies down for a nap.  Somehow we managed to get 3 toddlers to all take decent naps which meant that we had time to just lay out on the deck for a while.  It was AMAZING!!! It brought back lots of pre-baby memories.

It had warmed up by afternoon, and we set out to the beach again.  It couldn't have been more amazing weather.

Family shot

Garrett was working really hard.

Luke too!  I love that he wore his glasses and hat around and didn't even try to take them off.

Ave's hat lasted all of two seconds

Garrett was definitely the only child brave enough to get in the water.

Doing what she does best.

That night we grilled some fajitas and let the babies play inside.

Ave found Dan's hat.  She insisted on wearing it around for quite a while.

After baths, I had to get some pajama shots.  Nothing cuter than pj picks.

I think Luke is fascinated by Bill.

Such cute boys

Ave is still wearing her Halloween pjs because she loves them so much.

The next day, we hit the beach again. And I got lots more pics!

We left that afternoon and Avery was literally asleep before we had even left Surfside.  She was SLEEPY!  Probably because she woke up at 5:30 that morning :).

We had a great time with friends and made lots of memories.  I can't wait to take Ave back to beach again!
