My baby girl is ONE! How did that happen? I still freshly remember the awful labor pains and crazy delivery followed by amazingly wonderful and sweet moments over the next fews weeks and months of snuggling a most perfect newborn. Chloe has transformed from a little eating and sleeping bundle to a crazy, busy, loud toddler. It's insane how much change can happen over the course of one year.
Her first year flew by. Honestly, it went so, so much quicker than Avery's. I tried to soak up every minute (except maybe our rough January) and enjoy every stage. I'm sure it will be no time at all before she is going to school, and lately that has been making me really emotional!
Here were her stats at her 1 year checkup-
Length-30.5 inches, 86%
Weight- 21 lbs 4 oz, 51%
Head- 47 cm, 92%
I've said this before but when I was pregnant with Chloe, I assumed that she would be very similar to Avery. Turns out that they definitely are not! They have different measurements, personalities, etc. God made them so unique and perfect in their own way!
At her appointment, Dr. Nandwani ordered an ultrasound to make sure that her hemangioma was not getting in the way of any of the blood vessels in her neck. Since I'm late in doing this post, we just got this done and are waiting for the results.
Here's the latest on everything else-
-Chlo girl has 4 teeth! The bottom two and top two. Those little chompers are big and painful when she bites (which she's been known to do from time to time).
-She has not started walking on her own yet but constantly wants to be standing and walking while holding on to something. She is a speed crawler when she wants to go somewhere. Her favorite forbidden places are the bathroom, the stairs, and the laundry room. We always close the gate at the bottom of the stairs and the doors but she jumps at the chance to sneak in there if they get left open. One of her favorite things in life is to pull all the toilet paper down and put her hands in the toilet. It grosses me out SO much but she just loves it. I never had to put locks on the toilet or even think about that with Ave but we have to with our little mischievous Chloe.
-Eating- At one year, she still nurses 4 times a day- morning, noon, around 4:30 pm, and bedtime. She eats 3 meals throughout the day and has become such a champ at eating. There aren't many foods that she hasn't tried. Her favorites are fruits of any kind, cheerios, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, black beans, and broccoli. She does not like plain pasta, eggs, or rice.
Sleeping- Chloe is now down to one nap during the day which usually occurs around 1:45 pm. If we are in the car in the morning, she may take a little 10 minute snooze but she will still take a good nap in the afternoon. Her bedtime is around 8:15pm, she usually wakes around 6:15-7:30am and I feed her, then is awake for the day around 8-8:30am. She is still in her sleep sack and loves it.
Loves- Chloe loves anything and everything about Avery. She follows her around, wrestles her, and gives her hugs every chance she can. It melts my heart! She is definitely an adventurous one. She loves being chased around, throwing balls, dancing to music, putting everything in her mouth (surely this will stop soon, right?!), taking out her hairbands, and laughing.
Our nicknames for Chloe-

On Chloe's actual birthday, we decided to celebrate a little at home.
Rise and shine, sunshine!
You've just got to have a candle on your birthday!
She wore Avery's 1 year outfit and it brought back so many memories and created so many sweet new ones. I just love to see both my girls in the same outfit.
Stinker!
We had one or two last minute errands to run before her big party the next day.
It's hard being one!
I could not have possibly dreamed of a more perfect child to add to our family. She is just such a little love. Our trials and waiting was worth every minute. There were so many nights that I prayed for another child, and I could not have imagined just how amazingly and perfectly my prayers would be answered. I just adore everything about my sweet girl and cannot wait to watch her grow up. Happy 1st birthday Chloe! We love you!!!
