On April 30th, 10 days before my due date, Colin arrived! That morning, around 1:30 am, I woke up to use the restroom. When I got back in bed, I heard Grace moving around so I got up to let her out. I had a contraction so I decided to watch some tv and see if they continued. Well, they did for the next 20 minutes. Bill came in to check on me and we decided to call my mom and have her stay at our house in case this was it. By the time she got to the house my contractions were intensifying. I could definitely still talk through them so we decided to head to the hospital.
It was much more calm this time. I walked into Labor and Delivery and saw Dr. Hampton sitting at the desk. Apparently she had a patient that was about to deliver. I chatted with her for a couple of minutes and then got checked in. They sent me to triage and checked me. I explained my fast delivery with Chloe to the nurse so she took me seriously. I was also in pain with each contraction. When they checked me, I was 6-7 cm dilated.
Dr. Hampton told me later that she thought I was going to be sent home since I seemed so positive and happy upon arrival. Thankfully that wasn't the case!
Once we got settled in our room, I asked for an epidural. Dr. Hampton's other patient was about to have a c-section which meant the anesthesiologist wasn't going to be available for a while. I was terrified that I wouldn't get an epidural and would have as much pain as I had with Chloe. Dr. Hampton told the anesthesiologist to come see me first. I was beyond thankful!

The labor definitely went slower than the last. We had some time to enjoy the experience so I took some pictures of Bill. He was doing much better this time versus my labor with Chloe.
As the contractions continued, Colin's heartrate started dropping.

They put some oxygen on me and called Dr. Hampton in to deliver him. I felt a sense of urgency towards the end since his heartrate was dropping so frequently. It didn't take many pushes and he came into the world at 7:06 am.
We were absolutely in awe of our sweet boy. I don't think I actually believed that Colin was a boy until he was here and I could see for myself!
We are so unbelievably blessed to have this sweet little bundle join our family!
