Avery Update
Every time that I've gone to my doctor's appointment throughout this pregnancy they have measured me with a tape measure. I have always measured two weeks behind which falls within the normal range. I have never worried about it because it seems like a very inaccurate way to measure the baby's growth. Two weeks ago I brought this up to my doctor. She was not worried at all about her growth because although I have measured behind, she has always made the progress that she needed. I was asking her lots of questions about it, and she offered an ultrasound to ease my mind. She said that it was not something to be worried about but that she would send me so they can get an idea of the weight, etc. Of course, I jumped at the chance to have another ultrasound. For some reason, I have always thought that I would have a decent sized baby since I was relatively big myself as a baby. We went for our ultrasound last Friday, and she is measuring small. This really surprised me. She is measuring a little smaller than 34 weeks and I was at 35 weeks and 3 days at the appointment. The Ultrasound Specialist did not seem concerned right now but said that she wanted us to come back in two and a half weeks to make sure that she has gotten bigger. If she has not then they may go ahead and induce me so that she can get bigger outside of the womb. The doctor said that we may just have a small baby. Other than her size, everything else looks good. We are praying for a miraculous growth spurt in the next couple of weeks. We go to my OB tomorrow, and I'm interested to see what she has to say about it. I will write an update as soon as I hear more info. In the meantime, please pray that she keeps growing and gets back on track.
