Solids!

Soon after Chloe turned five months, we started solids.  Dr. N told us to start solids before 6 months because studies have shown that babies that start after 6 months have a higher chance of having a gluten intolerance.  We started with good 'ole rice cereal.  I thought this girl would LOVE food since she opens her mouth for an empty spoon and never turns down a meal.

Ready Mom!
Well, I was wrong!  She opened her mouth for one bite, realized she didn't like it, then kept her lips as tight as could be for the remainder of the meal.  Against what they say in books, I tried to shove the spoon between her lips to get the taste in.  That didn't really go well :).

Chloe's many faces of disgust-

Are we done?!
We decided to just keep trying a little each day.  Avery even tried to help!

One day we thought a little change of scenery would help.  She was less than enthusiastic.

Finally, one night we tried giving her some rice cereal and she went to town.  Thankfully, she now eats pretty well!

So far, Chloe has eaten rice cereal, oatmeal, and we just started sweet potatoes this morning.  I feel like she is getting so old now that she is eating solids.  Soon, she'll be eating regular food just like us.  Where has the time gone?!
