When 2014 began Avery had never seen snow. There was a big freeze when she was around 1 1/2 but there wasn't any snow. January and February changed that! First, Avery had a snow day at her school. They bring in a lot of snow for the kids to play in. Last year she was sick and couldn't participate. She was so excited about it this year!
| She was a little underwhelmed when she first saw the snow pile in carline. "That's it?" It really didn't look like much. |
| Ash, Lil, Chloe, and I had some breakfast while we waited for Ave and Luke's snow day time slot. |
| The snow pile looked much bigger and more exciting up close. She LOVED it! |
It was definitely a hit that Ave will talk about forever. She loved the snow and actually cried a little when they had to go inside :).
About a week later, we had the real deal hit Houston. There was a freeze and some sleet/snow that left a little bit of white behind in our backyard.
| Chlo girl was ready! |
| And so was Ave! |
| I think Avery was a a little disappointed when she realized she couldn't pick the snow up and play with it. |
| We managed to scrape a little off to make a snowball. |
A couple of weeks later, another round of sleet came. Avery had no desire to play outside in it but Bill brought some ice inside so that she could make a snowman.
I have been amazed at how cold it has been this year. It was fun while it lasted but now I am so ready for Spring! Bring on the warmth, time change, and barbecues!
