We had a dr appointment to check her weight on Wednesday. Our Pediatrician wanted her to gain an ounce a day which would put her at 7 lb 5 oz. She weighed in at 8 lb 1 oz! She is growing quickly! She wanted to weigh as much as possible and showed us this by peeing all over the floor in the hallway after being weighed. The doctor also checked her hips. He had been checking them each visit and said that there is a click when he moves them. He is sending us to get an ultrasound in two weeks to check for hip dysplasia. After the ultrasound we will find out whether or not she will need to wear a harness to correct the problem. We are praying that she will not need this but we'll find out in a few weeks.
Last Tuesday we had a breakthrough! That Sunday and Monday night had been looong ones. After some desperation, I brought Avery into the living room and set her in her swing hoping that it would keep her busy for a few minutes. I laid down on the couch and woke up 4 1/2 hours later! After getting only 2 hours between feedings this was amazing! I put her down in her bassinet and she slept another 3 hours. For the next five days her schedule went like this- fall asleep in the swing at 12:00, Feed at 4:00, Feed at 7:30, sleep until around 9. I felt like a new woman after that amount of sleep! Of course, after getting used to that schedule, she changed it up a bit but I was very thankful for those five days.
Avery and I also survived our first night alone. Billy went out of town for work on Monday night. I was extremely nervous but she did pretty well!
We also started carrying her around in this...
She loves looking around at things!
She also has made lots of friends during this month...
Avery and Garrett are only two days apart and already best friends!
