My big 3-0

I turned 30 in May, and I still have a hard time believing that I'm no longer in my twenties.  When I think of my age, I feel like I'm around 24.  25 max.  I do think that my thirties are going to be the best yet, though.  When I think about where I was when I started my twenties, it is amazing to see how different my life is now.  I am completely content exactly where I am at this point and look forward to where my thirties leads me!

We celebrated with my family over Mother's Day weekend, and they went above and beyond with the decorations.  My mom made a collage of a TON of pictures from my childhood.  Avery loved looking at all of the pictures.  My sisters made some cute decorations, and it was so much fun celebrating!

I didn't have my camera with me so I had to settle for low quality phone pictures.

30 ROCKS!

Kelly brought her X-Box dancing game, and I just about died laughing while watching me parents attempt the dance moves!  There was just as much entertainment for those watching as there was for those participating!

My Dad and Scott rocking it!

At the end of May, we went to La Cantera in San Antonio to celebrate.  We were very much in need of a little getaway, and it turned out to be the perfect trip.

The initial plan was to meet up with friends for one night but we decided to go up a night early at the last minute.  I'm SO happy we did because it was the perfect length.  Ash and Kyle came up the day before too.

We checked in and walked around the hotel.  The grounds were beautiful, and I was absolutely giddy to be away from the usual routine in the pretty hills of San Antonio.

Bill thought that this was the perfect backdrop to do a fake proposal.  Never a dull moment :).

We headed to dinner at Cheddars for dinner followed by a movie.  Ash and I tried about 10 times to take a good picture in the car and this was the best we got.

I appreciate childless dinners out with friends SO much these days.  They happen so infrequently that it is such a treat when they happen!

The next day, the Morrises and Arrants arrived, and we literally chilled out by the pool all day long.  After showers, we went to Maggianos for quite possibly the best meal of my life.

The next morning, we went back to the pool and ate lunch before returning home to my little ones.  All of our gatherings these days include running after one child or another so there is very little continuous adult conversation going on.  I get so much out of spending adult time with friends.  I left feeling relaxed and energized.  On the way home, Bill and I discussed that one of the best parts of having kids is that we never feel sad to come home from trips.  It was a great trip but I was so excited to be coming home to our girls!
