Avery took two weeks of swim lessons at the beginning of June. I honestly didn't have high hopes for the end result since Avery would let out horrible shrieks if a tiny drop of water got anywhere near her eyes in the bathtub. She was almost four, though, so I felt that it was time to try to conquer her fears.
We had heard of Ms. Jackie from a ton of people at church so we were excited that we were able to get lessons with her.
The first day, Avery said that she was scared no few than like 20 times. She did NOT want to put her head under the water and clung to Ms. Jackie and her assistants.
| I'm pretty sure Ms. Jackie had to tell her not to pinch her skin while gripping for dear life about two seconds after this picture was taken. |
Chlo girl was such a champ every day. The lessons took place right when her nap should have started but she did so well.
Avery was very scared and even cried when getting in the pool by Wednesday of the first week. Something happened on that Thursday, and she went into the lesson deciding that she would be brave for the rest of the time. She wanted to dive for the toys, float on her own, and absolutely ate up all of the positive comments she kept getting.
By Friday of the second week, she had transformed completely. She wanted to do everything on her own and even wanted to jump off the diving board.

| I adore how she looks with goggles on. She looks so different! |

I'm not sure I have ever felt more proud of my girl. She started off so scared but conquered her fears and learned so much!
