We met Steph, the girls, and my mom at Houston's Museum of Natural Science a few weeks ago. I hadn't been in many, many years, and we had a lot of fun.
Just arrived and ready to hit up the exhibits!
We went through the bug exhibit to get to the butterflies. Avery LOVES butterflies and was beyond excited. She actually loves all bugs and references them frequently in her Bugopedia. This whole area was right up her alley!
There was a section in the butterfly area where you could hold a real butterfly. They must have been near death to allow children to hold them. Sophia's butterfly's death was eminent after her time with him. Poor butterfly got a little love squeeze. :)
Soaking it all in
After lunch, we headed to another of Avery's loves, the dinosaurs! She is fascinated by them and their bones.
There was an endanger species exhibit too that Chloe really enjoyed.
My personal favorite!
Last but not least was the jewel exhibit. There were tons of rare jewels and jewelry behind glass cases in a vault. Avery told me that Daddy could just buy us all the jewels there. Good luck with that girlfriend!
We finished out the day with a trip to the gift shop. Avery chose a butterfly garden that provided far more entertainment than I thought imaginable. More of that to come...
