Valentine's Day 2015

I always look forward to Valentine's Day because it means fun activities, class parties, fondue, and candy.  There is no pressure, and it's fun to have a little holiday to celebrate.

This year, we kicked off the celebrations with a little sister V-Day party at Lindsay's house.  I love that they are able to have some special time without being overshadowed by their siblings.

On the Thursday before Valentine's Day, Avery had her class party.  She was thrilled with her food options since they included Chic fil A nuggets, cheetos, and fruit. (It's the little things in life!)  We had just had a conversation that morning about being thankful for what you are given, and if you don't like it then just don't eat it.  You don't have to tell everyone that you don't like it!

They played fun games and it was one of the most enjoyable parties that she's had this year.

I let Chloe down for all of three minutes at the very end of the party.  Somehow in that short span of time she put some magnetic letters in her mouth.  Little did I know that this action would be our V-Day downfall.

My sweet girls cheesin' for me
On Friday, we went to Steph's house for a little playdate.

On Saturday, we hung around the house and ordered pizza for dinner.  Chocolate fondue was up for dessert.

Ave loved her "little table" that came in the pizza box.  I haven't seen one of those in ages!

Chloe girl was not feeling it that night.  She ate practically nothing for dinner and wouldn't touch the chocolate.  We instantly knew something was wrong!

She just wanted to be held.  I did manage to get a few smiles out of her though.

The next morning, I stayed home with Chloe and Bill took Ave to church.  Poor Chlo girl laid on my chest and watched home videos the whole time.  It is VERY unusual for her to snuggle so I knew she was not feeling well at all.

Avery left for church happy as could be but apparently the wheels came off after church, and she came home a crying mess.  One hour later she had a fever and chills and complained of her tummy hurting.  I instantly thought that they could have the flu so off the the urgent care place we went.  We saw a little boy from Ave's class leaving as we were arriving.  He ended up having a stomach bug but his mom wanted to test him for the flu too.  Both girls had a negative flu test and had the same stomach bug which resulted in not the most fun week but thankfully they got over it relatively quick. It apparently was going around her school.

For some reason, our Valentine's Days always seem to have some random unfortunate event happen.  Maybe next year we will have an uneventful fun V-Day.  At least we were able to celebrate the days prior.  No matter the circumstances, I am always thankful for my sweet Valentine's!
