Butterfly Garden!

My mom got Avery a butterfly garden at the museum a few months ago.  Her caterpillars arrived in the mail about a week after we ordered them.  They eat and eat until they turn into chrysalides (who knew this was the plural of chrysalis) about a week later.

Avery would check the caterpillars every morning and throughout the day until one day they made the journey to the top.

We carefully attached the paper they were hanging on into the butterfly garden and waited.  On Easter, one butterfly emerged!

Ave loved feeding them and watching them.

After about a week of watching them we decided that they would probably enjoy a little more freedom.

This was such a fun and educational experience for Avery.  I'm so glad she got to see the butterfly life cycle in person!
