Baby Zipps #3

Bill and I have always envisioned having three kids.  We found out during Avery's first week of school that we were pregnant with #3 due May 10!

It drives me nuts when I cannot get the picture to go the right way but here is our little nugget at 9 weeks!
Because of our previous issues with pregnancies, we decided that we would try one more time and if we were unable to keep the pregnancy then we would be happy with two kids or adopt our third.  The day before I found out that I was pregnant, Kelly called to tell me that she had just tested positive for a gene mutation called MTHFR which can cause frequent miscarriages.  She recommended that I get tested to see if I had this as well.  After some online research, I became thoroughly freaked out.  There isn't much medically supported information out there, only forums where people talked about all sorts of frightening things.  After talking with Billy, we decided that if I tested positive, we would stop trying and stick with our family of four.

Well, God had different plans because the next I found out I was pregnant.  I got tested that morning, found out I was positive, and headed to a high risk specialist to see what it meant for my pregnancy.  The whole time (other than one particularly rough day) I felt a peace knowing that God was in control.  The high risk specialist said that I needed to take a special type of folate (since people with this problem don't break down folic acid normally) and a baby aspirin a day.  She also said that the condition shouldn't affect my pregnancy at all and that there are no increased risks.  I was so relieved!

I feel certain that God wanted us to have this child.  If the timing had been at all different then we would have either not tried any longer or we could have potentially miscarried due to our need for extra supplements.  He had us the whole time and knowing that has made all the difference going into this pregnancy.  I know that He is in full control and will take care of this precious baby.

We are so excited to meet this little one!
