We decided to take the kids to Midland over Spring Break. We had some decisions to make on the new house, and we wanted to get the kids excited about their future town. We decided to break up the drive by stopping in Ft. Worth for the night.
| Nothing makes my kids happier than road trips with Dairy Queen stops! |
We made it to Ft. Worth!!! Our kids adore hotel rooms so they were thrilled to make themselves at home. We looked around the hotel and then went to Main Event for some fun.
The next morning, we hit the road again and made it to Midland with only one stop at none other than Cracker Barrel!
| We're here!!! |
We drove by Avery's new school on the way to our hotel. Go hornets!
.
We stopped by our house and the neighborhood park that afternoon.
We took the kids to a really cool park the next morning. We had a babysitter coming to the hotel for a few hours later so that we could make some decisions for the house.
The house was really coming along! We found the most wonderful babysitter that managed to entertain all three kids for FIVE hours while we checked many items off our house checklist.
The next morning we left Midland to head to San Antonio. We wanted to end the trip with something fun so we booked a night at the JW Marriot.
The place was amazing but it was COLD! A little colder than we had anticipated. The girls didn't mind the water temperature in the pool but Colin turned a slight shade of purple. Poor guy!
They hand out supplies for s'mores in the evenings so after showering, we decided to get some!
After a relaxing dinner in our room, we were all happy!
The next morning was our final leg of the trip- San Antonio to Houston. Colin grew very tired of the car, and we had some meltdowns. I couldn't do anything but laugh! They did SO well the whole trip (until the last thirty minutes!).
After we returned home, we reflected on our trip and were all starting to visualize our future life in Midland. The girls were really excited to see this mysterious place that we had been telling them about. We got a ton done and overall it was a very successful week!
