Colin is ONE! I still can't believe it as I'm typing this! He is the sweetest, most wonderful little guy. This past month has brought so many changes.
First, he officially takes BOTTLES! I never thought this day would come. Bill and I needed to take a trip to Midland to make the last selections for our house a few days ago. It forced me to wean Colin quicker than I probably would have. I tried going slowly but Colin would just skip the meals that I didn't nurse. I just dropped all of the daytime feeds almost all at once and he slowly started taking bottles. After a week or two, he was a pro! I can't even express what a relief it is that anyone can feed him. I left the kids with my mom while we were gone and he did SO well with the bottles.
Second, the formula in the bottles has made him sleep SO much better too! It's a win/win all around. He now goes to sleep around 8-8:30pm and sleeps some days until around 7am. He still wakes occasionally around 5:30-6am and I just give him a warmed 4 oz. formula bottle.
He is doing so many new things too. Here's his latest-
-Waving, clapping, shaking his head, pointing without his finger (he started pointing, well kind of, the day of his birthday party. Every time he saw the balloons he would "point" in that direction
-He loves climbing on everything and started to crawl at times with his legs straight, knees off the floor
His words at 1 year- mama, dada, apple, uh oh, ball, moo, roar (like a lion)
