Avery's Beach Bash

The weekend before Avery's big 2nd birthday, we had her birthday party at our house.  Since it is sooo hot in June, we decided to have a beach themed party with water and sand activities.  Ave was super excited about her party and would exclaim "beach party!!!" anytime we would mention it.

Helping Mommy bake some cupcakes

This was her favorite part of making cupcakes
I don't know if I have ever seen my child more excited about anything in her life.  She was absolutely giddy  from the time her guests arrived until she went to sleep that night.

Friends are here!

Sophie girl is so close to walking.

Ready!

Pure joy

We borrowed Sophia's ball pit which was definitely a hit.

More shrieks of joy

What a handsome little guy!

Gram Z and Aunt Laura!

Sweet boy

I love Joe's expression- why are you taking a picture of me???

Jack was loving the baby pool.

Ave loved pushing Lukie in the swing
We were keeping an eye on the weather because there were ominous clouds all day long and some downpours midday.  I feel like rain is the theme of our summer/ fun events lately.  Luckily, the kids were able to play for a good 30-45 minutes before the thunder and lightening took us inside.  It cleared through quickly  and we were able to come back outside towards the end.

Taking a break for some dinner
The moment she had been waiting for- cupcake time!

Next, it was present time!  I think it is impossible for a two year old to open presents and not be tempted to play with every single thing that has just been opened.

Ave carried her rocking horse into every single room of our house that day.

Back outside for a little more fun before the night was over

Our best attempt of a picture of them two

So sweet.  I can't believe he will be one soon!

My favorite thing about this picture is Garrett vacuuming outside without a shirt.  Love it.

My family stayed after the party to celebrate Father's Day.  Ave was having a blast checking out all her new toys.

I realized after everyone left that I had not taken a single picture of the decorations for my memories.  So I shot a couple after the fact.

I seriously cannot believe how quickly this past year flew by.  It felt about twenty times faster than her first year of life.  If we keep this speed up, she will be off to college soon.  Tear!  We are so thankful for her spunky spirit and sweet disposition.  We are so blessed to be your parents, Ave, and can't wait to see what your third year of life holds!
